How My Becoming Superwoman Club in Kenya Changed My Life
When I received an email from Aina Giving’s Becoming Superwoman CEO and Founder Carmen Westbrook to become a facilitator for a Becoming Superwoman Club in Kenya I was hesitant. I didn’t think I was qualified enough to do it. I was doubting myself and I almost said no…. Talk about self sabotage and thinking I did not deserve a seat on the table. “She needs a more qualified person to do it,” that’s what I told myself. And… after thinking about it for sometime I said yes.
I said yes….
And that is the best decision I have ever made and I have no regrets. Because if you ask me I am living my purpose. In giving leadership training to a whole new group of community leaders in my Becoming Superwoman Club in Kenya, I have discovered that instilling leadership skills and empowering other women is my purpose. And how amazing is it to be able to know my purpose? It gives me wings.
And…I have a confession about this purpose:
It gives me sleepless nights. It is bigger than me and I loooove it.
I know sometimes our purpose changes as we grow…and at 28 I know this is what I want to do for the rest of me. And if I ever create a product or just do anything else in my life it will be for women empowerment. This gives me satisfaction and contentment even when its hard or when I get so many NOs…this is for me.
So Why do I lead a Becoming Superwoman Club in Kenya?
The easiest answer is because I see, every day, the difference I am making in other people’s lives. That’s the bottom line.
And on top of that…it gives me wings that someone believed in me. That someone gave me the opportunity to live my purpose and just have the opportunity to do something that I love. I do it because I believe women need each other to thrive and succeed. And I do it because when women come together they can do amazing things. I have seen in my Becoming Superwoman Club in Kenya that women have so much potential…all they need is that push, encouragement, training and love.
There’s a Kenyan saying that I love: “Whatever you give a woman, she’s going to multiply. If you give her sperm, she’ll give you a baby. And if you give her a house, she’ll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she’ll give you a meal. And if you give her a smile, she’ll give you your heart. She multiplies and enlarges whatever is given to her. So – if you give her any crap, you will receive a ton of sh*t.’’
A woman is a multiplier and the Best Mathematician we have
Because women can multiply anything. This is the reason why I keep running my Becoming Superwoman Club in Kenya – and have multiplied it to two.
Because if I give a women the training and empowerment she needs she will do GREAT Amazing things.
She will become a great change leader. I’ve seen it already happen…in me. Through the training that I received from Aina Giving to become a Becoming Superwoman facilitator, I have become a change leader in my own community. And that is a gift I can never repay.
I believe in women and their potential. And I will do anything for them to see what they have and use it and multiply it. And do you know what? As I see the women in my first Becoming Superwoman Club in Kenya grow and multiply their worth, and as I see this starting to take root in my second Club, I have seen something amazing:
The world around me is becoming a better place with more humble, servant female leaders.
And I see the growth of amazing homes. And the development of strong communities. It feels so good when I see women come together and discuss family issues, marriages, motherhood and give each other solutions or encourage each other. And when women come together and start a self help group or a business and it blossoms
These are the moments I live for.
So why do I keep going with my Becoming Superwoman Clubs in Kenya? I do it to ensure that no woman ever goes through any of the struggles I have gone through. And to hold them if they are already going through them. I need them to know they will get through it and that they are not alone.
Because I struggled with depression in 2019. And do you know what? I made it – and it was in large part because of the support from my own ladies that walked with me during that time. And I not only overcame it – I blossomed. For me, this is why we need each other. And so I facilitate the clubs in order to be an encouragement for any woman that is going through something in her life.
And that gives me JOY.
We need more women leaders in the world. And I do this because I know women can lead. Not only that – when women lead, homes thrive, communities thrive, nations thrive the world THRIVES…!
I do this because our feminine energy and our uniqueness makes us amazing leaders.
And any work that needs to be done for women to take up their positions globally, I want to be part of it. No matter how small the impact or the difference will be, I want to be part of it. I want to be among the numbers.
I now have two Becoming Superwoman Clubs in Kenya that have amazing ladies. Ladies who have dreams, goals and the knowledge that they can be all that they would want to be. And…I love them. Because one day these women will be leaders in different places and those places will thrive.
And that is why I keep Becoming my Own Type of Superwoman.
Won’t you join us? We’d love your type of Superwoman in the club, too. Let me know what I can do to help – I am always here for those amazing ladies.
