f you’ve had a child, you know just how incredibly much stuff they need. Oy. Vey. Seriously, my husband and I (well, ok, mostly I) are totally el cheap when it comes to kids stuff – they’re just going to poop on it, people – but we, too, spent LITERALLY thousands of dollars when our first one came along. So here’s where you come in: make this cute dress for a small person that needs a little extra love. Bonus? It’s insanely easy to make. How can you do this? We’ve got all of the deets below…

The Low-Down:

Baby Buggy takes an innovative child-focused approach to curbing generational poverty by linking access to critical child gear items to parental participation in programs designed to lift the family out of poverty.

Together, the services and the items add up to far greater impact. Our donations, which are distributed to a network of over 100 community-based organizations across the country, help to offset the high cost of providing for infants and young children at a critical stage in a family’s life.

For example: A mom receives a stroller after demonstrating that she has opened an education savings account for her child. A father receives a crib after participating in a 16-week fatherhood program that includes completing an infant CPR class and a healthy relationship workshop.

Each donation is tailored to meet the specific needs of an individual family served by the community-based organization and is designed to provide immediate assistance, as well as tools and programs parents need to build their self-sufficiency over the long term.
