Good Morning, Amazing People!
We just want to take a minute to tell you how amazing you are. With your love and help we were able to send 4 big boxes of relief supplies to Ecuador, with another shipment happening today. How RAD is that??? Seriously, isn’t it beyond awesome that we’ve found each other? You make my heart sing, y’all. Make it SING.
Spread some love and solve homelessness.
“Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.” – C.S. Lewis
Inspired by two of our Aina Peeps (thanks Marilin and Erin!), we decided to let y’all know about the amazing work being done to fix homelessness. Marilin told us of a homeless youth she sees on the way to work – and now this homeless youth? She’s pregnant. Can’t. Imagine. Then Erin told us of an amazing story of love that she accomplished with her kiddos – giving a $200 gift card to a homeless woman for Christmas last year, and getting a huge hug and tears of gratitude in return. Y’ALL ARE AWESOME, PEOPLE!!!! Looking for a way to help, too? We got you covered.
We have two orgs for you to be a part of – The Lighthouse and The Healthy Babies Project. The Lighthouse is this PHENOMENAL place that helps transition people out of homelessness and into stable lives and careers. Put together a care package or donate to their career closet (hey seamstresses! We even have a sewing option for that!) and they’ll send you a pic and thank-you on our Aina FB wall. The Healthy Babies Project is one of the very few organizations that we found that takes people under the age of 18, perfect for Marilin’s girl. Even more rad? They have a transitional house, and it needs your stuff. Get all of the Healthy Babies deets here.

“You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously.” – Dr. Steve Maraboli
Ashley, one of our Aina Peeps, inspired us by asking us to find an “org that works to empower young people” – stopping the damage from advertising and letting them know that “they’re worth more than their looks.” Well game on, sister. We have two Aina-approved orgs that do just that.
“Always laugh when you can. It is cheap medicine.” – Lord Byron
Ok. Superbug reached us. You can stop it. This week researchers found a bug that was resistant to ALL antibiotics. So yeah. Bad news bears. What’s going to make the difference? One person – ONE PERSON – that makes that discovery that blows it all out of the water. Best part? You, oh layman, can be that one person
Get trained up, look at microscope pics, discover new proteins, drop the mic. Check out Zooniverse and how you (or, ahem, your uber bored now-at-home-for-the-summer kids) can make a difference.
Carmen, Kristin, and Natalie
We think y’all are rad and want to get to know you better. Join our Facebook Group and tell us how you want to change the world – we’ll find an amazing org and project just for you.
