Goooooood Morning, Peace Warriors!

How’s that armor fitting this week, friends? Because y’all, we’re in a battle to change the world, and we’re so glad that we can look over and see you by our side. What you do every day inspires us – your stories of love, grace, and hope blow us away. Here’s to you :).

Give Great Thanks.

“Maybe life isn’t about avoiding the bruises. Maybe it’s about collecting the scars to prove we showed up for it.”

Monday was Memorial Day! Along with barbecues, pools, and sunshine, we heard from many of y’all about how you honored those that sacrificed themselves to keep us safe. Y’all are rad in your bold love, peeps. Then we read that US Airmen had helped Iraqi forces move on Fallujah to take it back from ISIS – and we realized these soldiers didn’t get a backyard BBQ this year. So let’s light up some lives, friends, and make a difference for a soldier now.

So as awesome as those Otis Spunkmeyer muffins are, there’s only so much those things give you (other than like 5,000 calories). Not a whole lotta love in a pallet dropped at your FOB. Here’s where you come in. Get out your cute apron, don that seriously awesome chef’s hat your aunt gave you last year, and make some cookies, people. This giving project is perfect for an individual or with kiddos – so cool to teach small people to appreciate the sacrifices of soldiers. Make some homemade treats for the deployed and become an Angel Baker. Get all of the deets here.

Let’s Make Nice and Be Friends.

“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors” – Plato

So, to continue the reality TV that is politics right now (seriously. grab some popcorn. it’s a fantastic show), Paul Ryan endorsed Trump yesterday. Kudos on the sharing, boys. We’re all about each voice making a difference, because we all have one life to live and as y’all know, one voice can change a life. So whip out those party hats and make your own endorsement announcement.

Elections are important. Women being a part of elections are even more important. Women are over half of the world population, and for the last EIGHT U.S. elections men have turned up at the polls in bigger numbers than women. Not only are women way better than that, we’re also way more fun than that. So throw a party with your gal pals and put the fun back into having your voice heard. How can you do that? Check out all of the deets here.

Spread Peace with Love.

“You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously.” – Dr. Steve Maraboli

This week saw another school shooting at UCLA. Lock arms, friends, and warrior on – we are making a difference, we are touching lives, and WE CAN END THIS. Read on and be that fierce peace hurricane.

Here’s what to do: make a quilt to end gun violence. This quilting takes pieces of fabric from victims of gun violence and puts it all together into a memory quilt to end gun violence. WARNING: This org is political. We desperately tried to find one that wasn’t, but gun issues are apparently just too juicy of a topic. The good part is that this quilting project? Not part of their political machine. Quilters, unite – check out how here.

One more note, peeps – we have a new fab peep on Team Aina! Welcome Jillian to our team of peace warriors – she’s pretty bad-ass, and we’re insanely lucky to have her as our VP of Marketing. Love you, amazing lady!

Talk Soon!
