This week the world mourned and was inspired by the life of Muhammed Ali – what an amazing man, y’all. After breaking through so many ceilings and walls, this warrior kept fighting and living, even when confronted by Parkinsons. Talk about inspiring. In honor of his fantastic, we’re giving you ways to throw some love to other parkinsons patients and family members.
“Courage is like a muscle; it is strengthened by use.” – Ruth Gordon
This week BuzzFeed published a letter from a sexual assault victim to Brock Turner, a student at Stanford that sexually assaulted her behind a dumpster one night after a party. It’s now circled the globe, received letters, videos, and congressional hearings. So now that we’ve talked about it, let’s DO something, peeps. Check it out.
What’s bad? Going through legal battles after sexual assault. Guess what? There are countries where there are no legal battles because sexual assault isn’t illegal. And it’s not like there are three of these countries left in the world – they are ALL OVER. Our fab project this week is to make a purse o’ toiletries to help immigrant women escaping sexual violence and starting again in the U.S. Check out this video to see what you can be a part of, and check out the deets on the project here.
Taking Time to Listen.
